Energy Star All our homes are Northwest Energy Star certified. They are energy efficient, better built, more comfortable to live in, save you money on your utility bills, and are better for the environment. At the start of your project Malli Homes partners with an Energy Star Rater. During construction, the Rater verifies the building components installed in your home. After construction, the Rater conducts onsite testing with a blower door test, duct pressure test, and whole house infrared imaging. The Rater then qualifies your home as Energy Star and issues the Energy Star Label. Malli Homes are built with the following energy efficient elements:

Built Green Malli Homes incorporates environmental considerations and resource efficiency into every step of the home building and land development process to minimize environmental impact. It partners with a certified Built Green Rater to certify higher level Built Green homes. Certified Built Green homes must incorporate Energy Star features and the following components:

Zero Energy Choose to have your energy bill reduced by 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. A Zero-Energy Home generates as much energy as it consumes. The energy used is produced by on-site renewable energy sources such as Solar Panels. Similar to a conventional home a Zero-Energy Home is connected to the electric company's grid. The energy generated is put into the grid through a process called Net-Metering. Your electric bill will reflect the amount of kilowatts used minus the amount generated. Our Zero-Energy Homes have 3 key components: 1. Highly insulated and tightly sealed building envelop with fresh air ventilation 2. Energy Star modeled heating and cooling system incorporating Passive Solar Design 3. Energy producing equipment such as Solar Panels and a Velux Solar Hot Water System
